Velora Labs LLP (“we”, “us”, “our”, or the “Company”) operates the Secretly mobile application and website (collectively the “Platform”).

Secretly is a dating application that helps adult users (aged 18 and above) discover other adults nearby, express mutual interest, match, and chat. Certain features are available only to paid subscribers.

We take privacy in a dating context seriously. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. By downloading, installing, registering, or using Secretly, you agree to the practices described here. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.

1. Information We Collect

A. Information You Provide Directly

• Mobile phone number and/or email address (used for OTP-based login).
• Date of birth — used to confirm you are 18 or older. Accounts that cannot be verified as adult are removed.
• Profile information: name or display name, photos, gender, the gender(s) you are interested in, sexual orientation (optional), relationship intent, bio, height, occupation, education, languages, prompts, and similar profile fields.
• Sensitive personal data you choose to share — for example sexual orientation, religion, caste, or health status. You provide this voluntarily and may remove it at any time. Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, this is treated with additional care.
• Photos and (where supported) short video clips you upload to your profile, including any selfie used for photo / liveness verification.
• Subscription and billing information when purchasing a premium plan.
• Messages, chats, voice notes, and media you exchange with matches inside the App.
• Reports, blocks, safety flags, and any feedback or support correspondence you send us.

B. Automatically Collected Information

• Device information: device type, operating system, app version, IP address, unique device identifiers, advertising identifier (where permitted).
• Approximate or precise location, if you grant the App permission, used to show you nearby profiles and to enforce regional eligibility. You can disable location at any time from your device settings; some discovery features will then stop working.
• Usage data: swipes, likes, matches, time spent in each module, features used, screens viewed.
• Performance data: crash reports, diagnostics, and error logs.
• Safety signals: patterns we use to detect spam, fake accounts, harassment, scams, and underage users.
• Analytics data collected via third-party tools to improve the Platform.

C. Information We Do Not Collect

• We do not access your contact list, SMS, or call logs.
• We do not access your microphone unless you choose to record a voice note or use a voice / video feature.
• We do not access your camera or photo library except when you choose to upload a photo, record a clip, or take a verification selfie.
• We do not knowingly collect any data from minors under 18.
• We do not store your full card or UPI details — payment information is handled directly by our payment gateway partner.

2. How We Use Your Information

• Authenticate your account via OTP and maintain secure login sessions.
• Verify that you are 18 or older and remove accounts that cannot be verified.
• Show you to potentially compatible adult users and show compatible adult users to you, based on your stated preferences, location, and activity.
• Power matching, chats, voice notes, and other in-App communication.
• Personalise the experience — suggested profiles, filters, prompts.
• Process subscription payments and manage billing.
• Send service messages (OTP, match notifications, message alerts, payment receipts, safety notices).
• Detect and prevent fraud, fake profiles, romance scams, harassment, spam, and underage use.
• Respond to reports, enforce our Terms and Community Guidelines, and cooperate with law enforcement where required by law.
• Improve Platform performance, fix bugs, and develop new features.

3. Information Other Users See

• Your profile (name / display name, photos, age, approximate distance, and the profile fields you fill in) is visible to other adult users in your discovery audience.
• Your exact location is never shown. Distance is shown in approximate ranges (for example “5 km away”) and can be hidden in settings.
• Your phone number, email, last name, and exact date of birth are not shown on your profile.
• Anything you send in a chat can be read — and screenshotted or saved — by the person you sent it to. Please use the same caution you would in any private conversation.

4. Subscription & Payment Information

• Payments are handled by RBI-licensed payment gateway partners (such as Razorpay, PhonePe, or similar providers) using UPI, cards, netbanking, and UPI Autopay. The active payment gateway may change from time to time without prior notice.
• The payment gateway partner processes and stores card and UPI mandate details under its own security and privacy policies.
• We retain only your subscription status, plan, and transaction reference for billing and tax compliance.

5. Information Sharing & Disclosure

We do not sell or rent your personal data. We share limited data only:

• With other Secretly users — only what your profile is configured to show (see Section 3).
• With service providers (cloud hosting, content delivery networks, payment gateway partners such as Razorpay or PhonePe, OTP delivery, push-notification providers, photo / AI moderation providers, analytics) under data-protection agreements.
• With trust & safety partners and authorised content-classification services to detect and remove CSAM, intimate-image abuse, fraud, and other harms.
• To comply with legal obligations, court orders, subpoenas, or lawful government requests, including the POCSO Act, 2012 and the IT Act, 2000 (India), and equivalent laws of other jurisdictions where required.
• To report Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM) to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and / or Indian law enforcement, as required by law.
• In case of mergers, acquisitions, or restructuring (with notice to users).
• To protect rights, safety, and platform security.

6. Photo, Profile & AI Moderation

• Profiles, photos, bios, and messages may be reviewed by automated systems and / or trained human moderators to detect underage users, nudity / sexual content, weapons, hate, harassment, scams, and other policy violations.
• Verification selfies, where you choose to take one, may be compared against your profile photos to confirm you are the same person. They are used for verification only and are not shown on your profile.
• Some moderation features use third-party AI providers. We do not authorise these providers to retain your data for their own model training beyond what is required to deliver the service.

7. Data Storage & Security

• We use industry-standard safeguards including encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS), encryption of certain fields at rest, and access controls limited to staff with a need-to-know.
• Data is stored on cloud infrastructure (including outside India) with appropriate safeguards.
• While we take strong precautions, no online service is completely secure. Please use a strong unique passcode on your device and do not share OTPs.

8. Data Retention

• Profile and account data are retained while your account is active.
• Chats and matches are retained so you can resume conversations; chats with an unmatched or deleted user become inaccessible to you and are purged on a rolling basis.
• Safety signals, blocks, reports, and ban records may be retained for a longer period to prevent banned users from rejoining and to protect other users.
• Transaction records are retained for the duration required by Indian tax and accounting law (typically up to 7 years).
• Analytics data may be retained in anonymised form for up to 24 months.
• You may request account and data deletion at any time — see the Delete Account page.

9. Your Privacy Rights

Under applicable laws (including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023), you may have the right to:

• Access your personal data
• Correct or update your information
• Request deletion of your data
• Withdraw consent (note: withdrawing consent for core data will end your ability to use the Platform)
• Nominate another person to exercise your rights in case of death or incapacity
• File a complaint with the Data Protection Board of India

10. Minors & Child Safety

• Secretly is an 18+ only dating platform. We do not knowingly allow anyone under 18 to register or use the Platform.
• If we identify or are notified that an account belongs to a minor, we remove it immediately and delete its data, retaining only what is required to prevent re-registration and to comply with law.
• We have a zero-tolerance policy on Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM) and child grooming. See our Child Safety & CSAE Policy.
• If you believe a user is a minor or that any content depicts a minor, please report immediately via the in-App report flow or email info@veloralabs.com with subject “Child Safety Report”.

11. Third-Party Services

• The Platform may use third-party tools including Razorpay / PhonePe (payments), OTP delivery providers, push-notification services, cloud storage and content-delivery providers, AI / moderation providers, and analytics services.
• These services operate under their own privacy policies.

12. Changes to This Privacy Policy

• We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.
• Significant changes will be communicated through the App or website.
• Continued use of Secretly after an update means acceptance of the updated policy.
